Reclaimed. Refined. One of a kind.

Forgotten textiles transformed into bags and coats crafted to outlive trends, and everything else in your closet.

Absolute Rubbish pieces are made one at a time, by hand, from reclaimed denim, leather, and upholstery textiles. They take anywhere from 12 to 50 hours to produce. When one is gone, it's gone. There is no second one.

What makes these different

A single coat can take 50 hours from concept to completion. That time is in every seam, every rivet, every decision. You feel it when you put it on.

Reclaimed leather. Upholstery textiles. Salvaged denim. Chosen for weight, longevity, and character — things that only come with a history.

New textiles are among the top three polluters on the planet. Choosing reclaimed isn't a compromise. It's the more considered, more intelligent choice.

The maker

Twenty-five years of taking things apart to make something better.

She started at 10. Scissors, curiosity, and no particular respect for what things were originally meant to be. Sewing by 9, fashion classes through high school, first collection at 18, design school at George Brown — and twenty-plus years in business building on all of it.

People don't drop fabric off at this studio. They drop off their rubbish. Designers bring remnants. Friends clean out their closets and know exactly who to call. The philosophy hasn't changed: start with what you have, waste nothing, and make something worth stopping for.

This month’s makes

I don't create to a schedule or chase trends. I make what excites me, when materials speak to me. What's available now represents my current obsessions—textures, colours, and textiles I couldn't resist transforming."
